The opening of the EDAI International Conference was carried out by the Minister of Social Rights and Inclusion, Hble. Ms Mònica Martínez Bravo, who emphasized the alignment between EDAI’s mission and the Department’s commitment: connecting research, clinical practice, and public policy to move towards a fairer and more innovative system.
She recognized EDAI’s role in bringing best international practices to Catalonia while also positioning the region as a source of good practices and social innovation—combining scientific expertise, practical knowledge, and collaboration with local communities and organizations.
The Minister reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to administrative reform, scientific evaluation, and investment in childhood, ensuring that all children have access to the resources they need for their development as a key pillar of the welfare state.
Ms. Roser Fernández, Director General of the Catalan Union of Hospitals, also joined us in the opening. She emphasized that early detection and prevention in child and adolescent health are essential, and stressed the importance of listening to organizations in order to meet their needs and strengthen coordination between social and healthcare services.
